I think it would be a greater effect if you had the whole tree in the picture, so you can focus on both the tree and the dark clouds in the background

Beautiful colors contrasting with the grey clouds...
Perhaps placing the tree a bit more left or shooting it from more distant perspective could strengthen your shot but of course I don't know the conditions that you've shot it...
I really liked it as is anyway; thanks for sharing,

the contrast is great, but in my opinion the picture would be better if the tree was a bit more far away from the capturing spot, or not even in the picture...
